and how we got here!
20 years ago, my business partner and I were approached by a company seeking a better way to manage new build snags. After some dialogue we established that actually, initial snags were only a part of the challenge - providing an efficient way to manage the 2 years following legal completion was what they really required.
So, we set out to create an after care service for small and medium sized house builders, based on a unique fixed-price proposition i.e., we would charge a simple fee per plot, regardless of how many defects are reported, which means that a developer understands the cost from the outset. A winning idea!
And over the last two decades, purchaser's expectations have increased wanting a better, faster, comprehensive and professional service.
Developers have found it ever more difficult to organise their own service, recognising the cost and distractions of recruiting and training staff and finding an affordable system to manage the entire process.
Not surprisingly, forward looking developers are switching to After Build to provide new homeowners with a reliable, cost-effective and professional, after care service.
